Dolce and Banana (dowl·chei /ənd/ buh·na·nuh): the art of building a designer wardrobe at discount prices // Dolce taste, banana prices.
I genuinely love designer labels more when they're second-hand. My most loved (and highly complimented) clothing and accessories are all preowned, which makes them so special to me. It's always fun to find something amazing at an unbeatable price. I made a list of the best stores along the East Coast with my favorite finds. I hope you drop in and explore these places, it's so important to support small businesses. I promise you won't be disappointed. #scoutshonor
The Fabulous Find | http://www.thefabulousfind.org
Kittery, ME
The Fabulous Find is a non-profit, so your purchases/donations benefit the community in many different ways. It's an adorable store that ranges from clothing to greeting cards. I've visited the store four times and came home with so many great things, it's hard to decide which is my favorite. My daughter found an adorable Anne Klein watch, some gold plated necklaces, pearls, and half a dozen rings. I picked up handmade cards when my cousin turned 30 and my friend got a new apartment. The ultimate purchase for me has to be this vintage, pearl covered cardigan I found in June of 2019. The merchandise is in great condition, and the ladies who run the store are friendly, helpful, and were so careful about following safety guidelines during my last visit. #Mens #Womens #Kids #fashion #home #toys #accessories My pearl studded cardigan and JP's Johnny Shades...

Portsmouth, NH
This gorgeous boutique in Portsmouth is one of my favorite places to shop. I've been there countless times, I refuse to visit my family in NH without stopping in. I recommend following them on Instagram; they do a great job posting clothing with full detail and pricing. I've made some money with their consignment program and spent some money shopping virtually: all seamless transactions. They're known to carry Free People, Kate Spade, Coach, Yumi Kim, and Lululemon. I've seen items that I felt were a bit overpriced, but it's always followed by a great deal, so I'm sticking with them. If you can't make it there soon, be sure to catch their car-stopping window displays on their page. Seriously, the first time I shopped was after stopping short to stare at the mannequins in their window. Sorry guys, this store is strictly #Womensfashion #jewelry #accessories
My favorite finds include this brown leather belt and double-zip black sleeveless sweater...
Slope Vintage | slopevintage.com // @slopevintage
Brooklyn, NY
My go-to #vintage shop in #Brooklyn. The owner is a sweetheart with a great eye for style. Their Instagram story is updated daily with new arrivals and styled looks, and they're always quick to respond with pricing or a size. Since they're located in Park Slope, the designer finds are endless. I bought multiple Theory tops for $20 and under, the coziest Andrew Marc sweater dress that I wear constantly, and a Faconnable blazer that retails for $795 for only $25! The first time I shopped there, the College Dropout album was playing and I made friends with the staff. Fashion, music, and 20% off your entire purchase if you mention me at checkout. #DOLCEandBANANA #shoplocal #thebkway #Mens #Womens

Brooklyn, NY
The prettiest little shop with accessories from the front door to the register. Everything seemed to be one of a kind, and the shop owner gave me 10% off just because I was so excited to be there. I had to pull myself away from a fully beaded blazer, but I settled on half the jewelry selection instead. I got a delicate pearl necklace and a gorgeous black brooch. Come to think of it, I'm due for a visit, it's #brooch season. #Womensfashion #handbags
PROP and r.e.d.STORATION | propandredstoration.com // @propandr.e.d.storation
New Hope, PA
There's so much to be said about this special boutique and gallery in New Hope. You walk in to an array of art and #homefurnishings, there's something to see at every turn. Art from France, mirrors from Italy, special finds from all over the world. Beth, the shop owner, was delighted to sit and talk with me as I tried on clothes, laughing as I squeezed into things without taking my own clothes off. She opened this store after a successful career as a NYC photo stylist and art producer. This woman is nothing short of my muse. I adore her, and she cultivated the epitome of a vintage store where art meets fashion. Visit her and definitely give her a hug for me. #Womensfashion #vintage #Gucci #YSL #homedecor #NYCstylist
Forever grateful for this #affordable #KarenMillen find, and #vintageGucci
Uptown Cheapskate | uptowncheapskate.com
Apex, NC
I was so excited to find this spot while visiting my father in North Carolina. I walked into what seemed like a never ending store filled with clothes, shoes, and bags. I was so overwhelmed by their selection; definitely set a good hour or two aside to look through their neatly coordinated racks. Their sections are arranged by size and color...it was heaven. I had the sweetest employee climbing a ladder to undress the perfectly styled mannequins above the shelves, I needed (and bought) it all. I found a mint pair of Gucci leather heels for $30, my favorite #VinceCamuto loafers for $15, and a #Forever21 crochet top for $5, among dozens of other things. If you're like me you'll need to add another ten minutes to your planned shopping time for a little dance session in the dressing room. #MensandWomensfashion #designerfashion #secondhandfashion #NorthCarolinaliving
